The Best Halloween Movies

What can I say? Halloween has been and always will be my favourite holiday, and the best part about Halloween? Watching some of the Best Halloween Movies! I’m sure that plenty of great halloween movies have been left out of this list (many classics!), so don’t be afraid to yell at me in the comments. Some of the Halloween movies in this list are scary, some are magical, some are ‘family’, and some are just silly. Either way, here are my favorite Halloween Movies Of All Time!

Dracula Dead and Loving It (1995)

“Another spoof from the mind of Mel Brooks. This time he’s out to poke fun at the Dracula myth. Basically, he took “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” gave it a new cast and a new script and made a big joke out of it. The usual, rich English are attacked by Dracula and Dr. Van Helsing is brought in to save the day”

Ernest Scared Stupid (1991)

“After a misunderstanding, Ernest P. Worrell unleashes an evil troll on Halloween.”

If you don’t know what Harry Potter is then I’m not quite sure how you are able to use the internet. Never the less…
“Rescued from the outrageous neglect of his aunt and uncle, a young boy with a great destiny proves his worth while attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”

Hocus Pocus (1993)

“After 300 years, three sister witches are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it us up to two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches reign of terror once and for all.”

Lesbian Vampire Killers (2009)

“Their women having been enslaved by the local pack of lesbian vampires thanks to an ancient curse, the remaining menfolk of a rural town send two hapless young lads out onto the moors as a sacrifice.” This movie is a pretty good comedy for what it is.

Mars Attacks! (1996)

When looking up this movie on IMDB I found out that Tim Burton directed this. It all makes sense now!
“The Earth is invaded by Martians with irresistible weapons and a cruel sense of humor.”

“A year after disposing the body of a man they accidently killed, a group of dumb teenagers are stalked by a bumbling serial killer.”

The Shining (1980)

“A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.”

Sin City (2005)

“A film that explores the dark and miserable town, Basin City, and tells the story of three different people, all caught up in violent corruption.”

The Mummy (1999)

“An American serving in the French Foreign Legion on an archaeological dig at the ancient city of Hamunaptra accidentally awakens a Mummy.”
It’s sequel is pretty awesome too.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

“Jack Skellington, king of Halloweentown, discovers Christmas Town, but doesn’t quite understand the concept.”

The Wolfman (2010)

“Upon his return to his ancestral homeland, an man is bitten, and subsequently cursed by, a werewolf.”
